Hi BP readersLooking for a recommendation - I'm committed to making real estate investing a significant part of our financial portfolio. 

I do run into older investors usually 70 and above who own big size portfolios and that was there business for decades running rentals. and by then they are all free and clear.. cash flow very large with no debt.. and monster equity of course even if the props never went up.as long as cap ex and turn over did not kill them along the way.. its the back bone of being a landlord..  

Once I finally revealed to them I have been slowly starting my portfolio I actually got the complete opposite reaction.

I am looking to get started with single or multi family homes and would like to grow a portfolio however I can.

It seems like there are certainly many investors out there that have portfolios much higher than ten do I’m just trying to see how people do it.

I've had 2 closing with a older landlord who I was downsizing his portfolio. 

I kept reading about building an investment portfolio.
