Read books, listen to podcast, watch videos, go to conferences, but most importantly walk what you read.

@M NA If you bought owners title insurance simply make a claim and let everybody scramble to resolve the matter.You don't hire your own attorney because defense/prosecution costs for matters such as this are covered by the policy.If you didn't buy owners coverage, report back.

Also insurance and good management make much better first lines of defense.

I believe you would half to build your team via conference calls and joining networking groups from a distance for now.

Like I said, my own point of reference is Lake Wheeler Rd (if you are West of THAT then you are definitely ok - if you are East it's a mix and YMMV).PS: And in defense of Southeast Raleigh, I'll add that there are also some nice pockets East of Lake Wheeler and S Saunders... again, just do your homework.

First, there was some hard knocks like everyone else, then government schools, then college, then corporate schools, more college,  more governmental education, then appraisal and real estate courses, then seminars at HUD, national conferences for housing officials.

I was recently at a Real Estate conference on the West Coast 2 weeks ago and there was a lot of chatter about self management and online tools to make it happen.

If you want to speed the learning curve, go to one of the conferences on syndication.Before getting too far, but after learning, talk with a securities attorney.
