As part of my thinking re selling my house, I wonder about window replacement.I have a 3 bay window in the dining area, one kitchen window, and the large living room window that have condensation between the panes.

If you really want to place a fan there, change the box to metal and make sure the Romex (the large white or yellow sheath with the other wires inside it) is properly connected with a good strain relief.Like Stefen said, make sure the box is properly supported for a fan.

The seals in about half the double pane windows were destroyed, and those windows had condensation stains.

There are a few storm window panes missing and interior window panes missing but nothing screams "replace me".Should we just putty, sand, and paint them all?

Should I just get the cheapest single pane type I can find, or would there be any point in getting a more expensive "low e" glass type or double-paned?

The front is painted (or some kind of panel is put on) to look stainless.Cheaper real stainless will have the black sides with real stainless fronts.

If it is a single pane window I would check on the pricing to get an insulated window installed there.
