They use google voice, the use fake or texting apps to shield their phone numbers etc.My question is has anyone else come across this and have you put any safe guards in place to protect property or potential resident from the scam?

likely a sensitive topic so a PM will work if not wanting to respond but we recently had a bunch of bookings for March after going live the last week of feb. 

I consider those people hyper-sensitive and weak - probably the first to die in the Zombie apocalypse.

The value gained exceeds the rent many times over, so I want to be sensitive and accommodating, but in the end, I need to do this no matter what.

and you are leasing it without Agent Assistance, you can discriminate (Check Validity in your state)  - but commonsense says stay away from questions about sensitive subjects (Religion, Sexual Orientation, Ethnicity, etc). 

  ( I have temporarily remedied it by killing the power to most of the house at the breaker )My experience matches the descriptions of EMF sensitivity.
