I recently bought a duplex and have received an application & deposit to hold from a newly engaged couple moving to my area.

The house is 180 years old but fully renovated and the pole barn apartment is all newly renovated. 

So everyone says renting my newly updated home is a huge mistake....

* What do you do to ensure that the tenant is responsible for security deposit disputes since that is the largest reason for owner lawsuits* How familiar are you with the newly changed laws that can affect you the owner if they are not used correctly?

I recently launched an STR in Connecticut and so far it’s going well.

How did your first round go 5 years ago, and what are your top 5 points that you would of liked to know before you launched that first round?

I would caution that a unit that has had a tenant in it 7 years is not a comp to the newly rented places.
