There tub/shower has dark blue accents squares throughout.Here are the questions:  (1)  Are the oak cabinets outdated, if so need paint ideas for cabinets and walls and determine if a backsplash helps or complicates things (2)  Color to paint fireplace that will compliment walls (3) Wall colors (4) Trim, front door, etc.

@Mike Madeja Dupage county as a whole does provide some good opportunities, but as other posters have mentioned, homes typically come with higher price tags.
