Winter in upstate NY is a great time to be buying property!

I still dont get why people would buy 3flat. 1 big building with 3 units in it..all 2 BR ..1 in the "basement" we call it here in Chicago "garden apartment" - hard to rent, especially in winter. ...in OK hood such a 3 flat would cost say ...+220K to start.. either foreclosure or short sale.

there is this house by me thats empty for some time now but i didn't really notice anything about it till a week ago when i saw a sign on the window of the home saying the pipes in this house has been winterized so they will not freez. also there is a notice of evaction on the front door of the home with some signatures on it.. i looked up the address on it and it says its not for sale and can't find any information on it on any forcloser web site so what would be going on with this home?

We have extended the settlement twice and now it looks like it might not happen till after the holidays due to the lender needing more time to pull everything together.

It will be a cold winter for her if she becomes homeless.

I would imagine that a stress-free stream of income would be of interest to them, as they are retired and spend the winters out of state.

Things are still inching up here - still going in leaps and bounds (or at least large strides) in places like TO, Vancouver, Calgary & Edmonton.Many markets are long overdue for a good Canadian winter ;)

I was hoping it would slow during the holidays but it hasn't.
