Maybe work something out where you shadow them for a while, maybe they can mentor / teach you for a few years until you are ready (or however long that is).

Thanks for your reply.I feel as if investing through reits will not teach me the "feel" of sitting down, closing a deal, knowing the details of the deal, the human aspect of it and learning more... it's more putting my money in the hands of others.
