CASHFLOW Board Game. Do you have this on your holiday wish list?

With the holidays coming up and winter here in New England (very cold) I'm thinking this would be a great family game to help get me financially organized for 2019 and bring the family along for my investing journey. Has anyone played this game; forced their kids to play? What are your likes and dislikes to it? Would my older kids learn something from it? I'm still a newbie and learning as much as I can. I also want my kids to start thinking about money and investing.

What are your thoughts?

Hi @Marie Fries! Yes, I own and have played the CASHFLOW game many, many times. I have no kids, but we played it with our nieces back when they were in their early teens.

I'm a huge fan: It's far more realistic and relevant than, say, Monopoly.

For one thing, you'll be introducing your children to critical real-world concepts like debt, budgets, and cash flow. They'll also get practice maintaining balance sheets and income statements. I, for one, didn't even know what either of those were until well after college!

But, in my opinion, one of the best lessons of CASHFLOW is that expenses (i.e. "doodads") will largely determine the ease (or difficulty) of escaping the Rat Race.

That wisdom alone is worth the price of the game, in my opinion!
