The longer I'm around, the happier I am that I'm not beholden to some financier.  

The daily grind of getting that next bid from customers, who have predetermined that every contractor is going to rip them off, is putting a bad taste in my mouth. 

I'm loving every second of it and I am so much happier (less stress) than I ever was before. 

I do see how it would work, but still feel the need to sit down with a local attorney to have the details explained to me before I spoke directly to a seller and put my foot in my mouth.

With that said, they tend to announce what it is they are looking for, usually via word of mouth/e-mails/etc..

That looks like a public offering to me, and needs to be guided by state and SEC regulations for security offerings.Best to stick with word of mouth discussions with people who know.

Do it wrong, and you could be left with such a bad taste in your mouth that you abandon any hope of a second REI venture. 

I may be new to all this, but I don't want to start something with a bad taste in my mouth.
