Newbies first rental property
I just closed on my first rental property two day ago and just wanted to share how I got to that point. I have been studying and listening for couple years and finally motivated myself to dive in and take action. I've been a professional baseball player for 12 years (Most in the minors) and suffered a concussion this spring. But in the midst of it all it got me motivated to take action on my next career.
I have an amazing broker and she started sending listings. I became a pro member and just narrowed down the areas I wanted to concentrate on in my hometown of Evansville, and analyzed them. I mad four offers and the last property we struck a deal. Although the underwriting on the loan process was a pain cause of my occupation and how crazy different it is we closed. I'm looking to get $1500 combined on the units and cash flow a little over $400 with a 15% ROI.
Without the knowledge and the help from Bigger Pockets I might have never started, but now I'm pumped for what's next.

Congratulations on making the move. Feel free to hit me up if you want. I'm fairly new myself (4 properties.) I know the transition is tough. I played football in college, a little Arena, Canadian, and bounced around to a few camps and tryouts with NFL teams but never made it. From there I most recently was coaching football in the ACC. Just starting a family, my wife was ready to settle down for a while and didn't want the life of a college coach's family (for now.) So I decided to finally dive into REI after years of researching and wanting to. I'm loving every second of it and I am so much happier (less stress) than I ever was before.
REI is my new passion and addiction, maybe it will become yours as well.
