I find it very helpful for keeping up with new job announcements, deals, trends, etc.Finally, as @Todd Dexheimer mentioned, Dave Lindahl's book Emerging Markets is a good overview and I highly recommend it for learning the big picture.

If you maintain an interest, you can take their series of 4 courses and eventually obtain the CCIM designation.Another education route is a MS in real estate offered by almost 100 colleges in the U.S.If you want to immediately enter the work force, you should familiarize yourself with the different real estate and real estate related positions in the industry, and the types of companies that employ those positions.As a general overview, there are sales positions (broker), analyst positions in both financial and market, appraisal, investment, lending, syndication, leasing, property management, asset management, site acquisition, etc.

It's always good to see people getting involved in REI up in our neck of the woods.If I had time, I could probably write 10 pages on the questions you ask here, but will try to give a very brief overview without getting lost in the weeds.As you probably imagine, Logan is the most desirable area for rental properties because of the perceived notion that the University provides an endless tenant pool.
