We're a member of SPOSFI, but they haven't really been helpful with any questions we've had since joining last year--even the more general ones...

Just spitballing more ideas: become a real estate agent, or an appraiser, or a home inspector, or volunteer at Habitat for Humanity building houses, join a local investors meetup, or non-local meetup for that matter if they have zoom! 

You may also consider joining the FVRMA chapter for the Treasure Coast. 

I wish you the very best, but it usually takes starting off with some financial resources of your own before others (read: lenders) will join you on your journey.  

I moved to Orlando FL a month ago (from Boston), and I am looking to join groups that have like-minded people, and at the same time grow my social surroundings.

If you're looking for something more hands-on, I'd recommend first joining a mastermind group to surround yourself with like-minded individuals, then start gaining knowledge about whatever strategy and asset class you want to invest in.
