They do not function well: access to upstairs is usually difficult, often a narrow back staircase too narrow for bigger furniture, heating and colling ductwork is not split, so in the summer the lower will freeze and in the winter the upper will be too warm (and leave a window open).

I even have experience working with tools and have done some cosmetic renovations for family members including building my own furniture. 

Unlike a store where only employees take out trash, I cannot prevent residents from discarding furniture.

@Fahadbin Alam Jody is right aha from personal experience I can say the only damage I’ve ever seen a cat do in a home is to the tenants furniture.

Also some furniture and a few other items will need to be swapped out - this place I fully furnish.I've been lining up estimates finding people who can complete carpeting/painting (still need to determine extent of this) within this window and I should be good there.Anyone else been in a similar scenario?
