It is an hour 40 to the Boston airport from Narragansett. 

No income tax  same as FLA so that is equal2. insurance is probably lower3. prop tax's not sure but probably about the same.4. better airport.5. weather not nearly as harsh IE rain thunderstorms etc.. 6. landscaping can be just rock and is accpetable. 7 houses pretty much all stucco.. so no bug issues Closer to west coast which for me matters may not for you

Some folks also look really hard at cities with blue collar jobs that can’t outsourced overseas (large hospitals, distribution centers, major airports, etc).

Only problem is if my work schedule permits, and I’ll be driving from near the airport. 

Yeah that is an area known as the base. those are all formally military housing in there from when the airport used to be in Air Force Base.

Las Vegas has grown a ton in the pat years, I was part of a research project in college on assessing the las vegas airport will be at capacity soon and they are building one far south and project the city will expand to that point.
