For the long term a number of trends favor the region(s): Revitalization of the rail routes up from NY, to Vermont and Boston on the 91 corridor and Pittsfield/NY/Albany routes Increasing diffusion of work life...a few days in Boston and NY, a few days in the countryside is more and more viable for people now--keep an eye on the wifi infrastructure.
