Hello -Looking to buy a duplex in Albany, NY as an investment property but have little cash. 

I currently own one home in NY as LTR, one STR in SWFL but am looking to expand my portfolio.

I paid 195k for my last property in Groton,NY (a surrounding town) and it rents out $3175/mo.

This is in Amsterdam, NY as well. 

For example, I started investing in Buffalo (NY) a few years ago because I liked the stable population statistic along with the fact that a big chunk of the population is in the healthcare industry... along with major car manufacturers having plants or some sort of manufacturing factory there (Tesla, GM, etc.) 

I am very excited To have finally closed on my first investment here in Liverpool NY as a 19-year-old investor as of last week and be auditioning for the Bigger Pockets rookie podcast this Monday!

They can definitely tell you what you need to know legally and licensing wise in NJ/NY as there are some restrictions in certain states and I think NJ is one of them. 

For example, in Rochester NY, a property east of Culver Road will fetch $20K-$50K more than a property just west of Culver Road.
