Investing in precious metals is a bad idea at the moment as you'll be buying in towards the top of a recent run up - the gold/silver bubble will burst on June 30th (or thereabouts) when QE2 ends - you'd be better off buying dividend paying stocks in resource rich economies like Australia, Brazil, or your own home country, Canada.I personally use the preffered stock ETF (ticker: PFF) you get a monthly check and a nearly 7.5% yield and you do 0 leg work.

I come from Australia so I understand rules and laws will be different. My partner and I are currently looking at investing in an apartment run by a hotel management chain (Ibis, Nova Stargate Hotel, Etc), however the properties hold long term leases.Apart from the BodyCorp fees being higher than normal properties, we feel this is a good strategy to enter into the property market.

It was in South Australia, Flinders Ranges 1963. 5 acres to feed one head until we drilled for water as droughts could last for several years.Because of the geo-thermals the water would come out of the ground warm enough to shower in & you had to remove the hard water scale from the shower head constantly. The windmills would pump the water & also generate the power to charge our household batteries for power.
