If I have white cabinets, and a darker brown countertop, should I use a light color backsplash or should I use something brown or would a mix be best?

I'd stick with a nice darker wood simple Home Depot vanity, and subway tile in the shower.

I think they do make paint for tiles, and it would probably look nice with white tiles on the walls and some darker floors (maybe a tile that looks like wood).

Lighter will make it appear larger and darker will make it appear smaller.

If you've done your homework, and used the calculators on BP, and know the numbers, then it doesn't matter what our 'darker selves' thinks...those doubts we have. 

Cut the color in half for a hallway and utility room, and then a color close but darker for the master. 

Federal jurisdiction is so broad and casts a large shade for these major banks to rest under, as opposed to state legislation which is a lot more specific and strict.
