White cabinets / Jamocha Granite Tops, what color backsplash?

I'm trying to decide on a theme for my rental kitchens, I use white cabinets, and jamocha granite countertops because they look nice and there cheap. I want to use mosiac tile backsplash in all of my units because it's a wow factor that I believe will pay off, nobody else uses them and they aren't that expensive to put in. If I have white cabinets, and a darker brown countertop, should I use a light color backsplash or should I use something brown or would a mix be best? I'm leaning towards a mix of light tiles and brown tiles to tie everything together. To give you an idea, here is a picture of my kitchen in my personal residence, but I don't want to use this backsplash in my units.
