It worked great, odor completely gone:Soak the area with white vinegar, undiluted.

As far as I knew you just dry out the wood and treat it, I did this in a kitchen on one of my rentals, I cleaned the studs with vinegar and treetop oil by hand twice, then afterwards treated with the anti-mold product from Home Depot (forgot the name) then painted it with BIN primer, I haven't had any issues.

In addition to the baking soda suggestion, try washing all tile flooring (assuming you have any) with a vinegar solution.

I asked him did he NOT want to work for me, and he said he did, and did a very good job...just Snarly hate filled anger when dealing with him--I ignored it and cut his checks--and found a better tempered person (catch more flies with honey than with vinegar).

Just take the high road with him if you want to keep using him, and move on with your life.You don't have to read the guy the riot act- you catch more flies with honey than vinegar.
