The core criteria to consider for your area include:- number of well paying jobs in the area- number of people moving to the area to take those well paying jobs (short-term assignments and indefinite)- number of employers who move workers into the area to fill those jobs - frequency of 30+ day vacationers If the above economic criteria look good, then there are a few basic criteria for the unit itself:- easy parking- decent neighborhood- kitchen or kitchenette- low price per bedroom compared to an extended stay hotel Good luck!

The plan is to rent them on a short term basis most likely through Airbnb to vacationers---the property is in a tourist town and located a few blocks from a harbor (Cove Harbor).

Airbnb is becoming/has become more widely considered by vacationers as a lodging option and I believe that we’re still on the ground floor. 

Keep in mind that beaches are only one of the draws for Michigan vacationers.

If you have 10 of these, and the vacationers only stay a week, you're dealing with 10 check out, clean and fix, and check in cycles every week.

For the month before, month after and holidays, vacationers can be more selective and would naturally go for those homes that have the nicer amenities/finishes.

The typical vacationer is from the NE corridor of the country, which means 95% of all Sea Colony vacationers drive here.
