I don't think it necessarily pertains to real estate investors in the situation you described.Is the property an investment property?

If the Property Manager shares this with you and the applicant's information is exposed, the PM could be held liable for failing to protect it.However, the PM should be able to send you the application, the lease agreement, payment ledger, and copies of written communication that pertains (i.e. text messages or emails).

There's no laws pertaining to a primary residence, but... in some cases buyers never considered holding it as a rental property.

Not all of these items will pertain to your specific rental.
