This folder structure has worked well for me for over 15 years of doing this: [Property Address] ---> [Income/expense category] ---> [Current Year]The receipts in each PDF are scanned chronologically from Jan 1 to Dec 31, so you can literally "scroll" through the year and find whatever you need.

You can scroll back through the calendar to see the kind of events put on. 

I can scroll through Instagram for 3 minutes and show you how 90% of my mid-20's peers are spending like the world is ending tomorrow.
