I don't need to leave my engineering job, but my thinking is that it is a better use of my time to dedicate myself full-time to getting immersed in the world of RE, since I will have another source of funding for deals.

It is funny how one’s perspective changes and suddenly old houses you’ve driven by 1000 and never noticed now almost throw themselves into the road ahead of you.Keep up the podcast immersion and keep us posted on your progress.

I've been an avid BP podcast listener and have immersed myself in as much real estate material as I possibly could have over the last year.

However, when I was starting out without any knowledge, I found it helpful just to be immersed .

My schedule is very flexible and I’m just looking for a good opportunity to immerse myself in Real Estate!

Those who have been in the game, played their cards right, & weathered the storm are going to put their collective feet on the gas and do everything they can to get filthy.

After you narrow down on 2-3 markets, connect with people in those markets and fly out there to immerse yourself in the area.I highly recommend reading David Lindahl's book called Emerging Real Estate Markets. 

I think it's smart to immerse yourself in the real estate world. 

Not necessarily asking others what they think you should do, but instead starting to immerse yourself in the business through what @Tamiel Kenney said: podcasts, conferences, networking, and what was said about reading books, and especially @Ellie Perlman's advice: "There are SO MANY ways to invest in real estate.
