Whoever came up with the idea and execution for the little virtual award system deserves a raise. It's amazing how quite literally a few pixels and an auto response email pat on the back create this tiny amount of electronic validation that is so encouraging to do more.
If you've made it this far...you deserve one of those things.
I'm a Florida native. I've spent my entire working life, investing hours of my time making other people wealthy. I've just recently come to the conclusion that my time is more valuable than the price I have been subcontracting it out for the last 20 years. I also have a desire to set up a better future for my son than if I continue to work an hourly wage for pittance while CEOs get multiple million dollar annual salaries.
My stepmother has done commercial real estate for at least 40 years, and not a day goes by I don't regret learning everything I could from her about real estate starting as a teenager, but the less time I spend regretting the "woulda-coulda-shoulda" , then the more time I have to find, facilitate, and proceed with projects.
I currently work in IT for so I am grateful to work from home in a position where I can research, learn, and scout out potential projects while working my 9-5.
I've recently been driving for dollars, and was blown away by how many vacant, distressed, abandoned houses I drive by daily that never paid attention to before because my eyes weren't trained to see what I have just recently become aware of.
I assumed that wholesaling is the easiest to accomplish with a complete lack of capital as a beginning investor, however yesterday with 1 specific property I found, I find myself asking why would I want to hand this over to someone else, for a small fee, when my end game is to own property.
Finance...that's why, because I know absolutely nothing about it, and I have even less capital than knowledge on the subject.
However based on my little virtual medals for accomplishing microgoals I feel like I am in the right place to change that.
I only listen to Biggerpockets podcast while driving now, and in my down time when I used to watch mindless television I am watching youtube videos, practicing running numbers, checking COMPS, and trying to prepare to the best of my ability to not come off like a complete and total amateur when I approach one of you lenders on here with a deal I firmly believe will be mutually beneficial.
(On that subject I'd like to commend podcast for having kid friendly content as my son is usually riding with me, and I never fear him hearing something inappropriate or psychologically damaging.)
In summary, you guys have fantastic content YouTube, Website, Forum, Podcast and I'm appreciative for the many contributors as well as an opportunity to come and share.
Thanks for having me.
