They would love to be near Whole foods or Trader Joes.

I am a Japanese tax payer and since they are not allowed in Japan, I would be stuck paying the taxes here.

As far as your crowdfunding site question, my inclination is that the IRS would consider this the same as buying a stock or mutual fund as an investment and not being an active trader or real estate investor that would qualify you as being "in business".  

Their property is a couple blocks from Mitsuwa the Japanese grocery market, not sure of the exact street.

It's hard competing against wall street and all the high frequency traders.

It's a fun time to be in Japanese Real Estate.

Being a top producing agent is just a great gig, fun and profitable but can have some stress.. that buyer was a floor trader out of NY and paid cash.. so he was a little demanding on her.. but when I was in Charleston 2 weeks ago I wanted to drive by the house as I am quite proud of being the owner builder and they saw us and invited us in without an appointment. and are so proud of their new home.. those are the times that we pinch ourselves and say is this a great industry or what and is this a great country or what..
