Just ignore his calls going forward, in that case.I am currently a Section 8 voucher holder, and I can tell you that most recipients won't meet strict criteria.

You just worry about the applicant and is there enough income for the applicant.Since you know who the payee is, you could always contact the SSA and let them know that the payee is not paying the SSI recipient's rent.

So, let's be clear about how poor someone is before they are the bad kind of poor.I think the first thing that needs to be addressed is the pervasive attitude that poor people have somehow created their own poverty and are simple-minded people that need to have their finances governed by someone else.Just look at the shows showing celebrities trying to buy food for the amount of money allocated to food stamp recipients to see how impossible it is for them to eat on that amount of money for food.

When I attended a seminar by the Ohio Assistance Attorney General regarding the subject of discrimination, SSI or section 8 voucher recipients are considered a protected class when it comes to "Fair Housing".

It is not illegal to reject a section 8 tenant.... it it illegal to reject a tenant BECAUSE they are a section 8 voucher recipient.

Make sure to ask for a copy of their award letter showing the amount (Recipient should get an updated one every year if income changes) and ask for 10-12 months of bank statements showing these amounts deposited into their account.
