FWIW, fixer-uppers out of state has been an absolute miserable experience.

You can have 100hrs a week into 4 equal buckets and be miserable.

I'd stay away from a condo.HOAs can make your life miserable with fees, rules and fines.You can make more money with a private house.I can rent a condo in Myrtle Beach cheap because there are so many of them competing for my dollar.

It will be a miserable existence if the lack of "there, there" posts or the lack of a refund from HD over a sample encourages the OP to try to organize a paint boycott or denigrate the people on this site, petty reactions if I've ever seen any.

I hate having sweat drenched clothing and Houston area in summer is miserable (so is Florida).I will be leaving Austin the month after my second son graduates and heading out to coastal Southern California.
