It used to be a mansion back in the early 1900's and was later converted to a genteman's club.

There was a show on HGTV where each room in a mansion was worth $1 million.

Of course you would be selling 100's of properties a minute and pulling in a large enough income to single handedly pay off the entire US deficit afterwards so you'd have paid off your (or your parent's) 2nd mortgage and be living in a mansion on one of your estates on the French Riviera and across the globe.

I call the area Brewery Mansion:-) Regarding rents, your pool of renters will likely be low income and if you are prepared for that and able to manage it for a few years, perhaps it will pay off.

Ask OJ, he bought a multimillion dollar mansion in Fl before he could lose everything in a Cali civil lawsuit. 

@Raquel Doheny  thank you.. if you have never been to Charleston I highly recommend it.. its a great tourist town.. shopping food culture history.. and there is a section called south of Broad with museum quality mansions one after another.. horse drawn carriage rides etc.we just snagged a lot there and will do our first multi million dollar build.. not big dollars like SF Bay ARea or at least the Peninsula but pretty heady stuff for South East. 

You can rent a respectable mansion in many cities for 10k a month.

If it does, then you have the mansion / white elephant that others will use as a comp - - but never get an offer on it.

I’d rather have a more expensive property that I have to fix up within 15 mins of cool stuff than a mansion an hour away.
