Robert -I do understand what your saying but that is a very far fetched example and my guys who do important stuff like plumbing/hvac/electrical are licenced with insurance.

If the reference info is fictitious or fraudulent, an attorney can also tell you if you are able to void the contract based on that.

I got my Licences a few months ago and will just tell you what I would have done knowing what I know now.1. keep your day job so you can qualify for loans if not your will need a partner with lots of cash I did I was lucky .

I have passed all of the requirements for the licence and am looking for a sponsoring broker.  

I imagine your friend that got their licence last year didn't try very hard.
