I think it's important to explain that not all advisors/planners work for companies that push commission based products, but it sounds like that is where your experience was.But, I do agree that it's probably a good idea to separate those roles though... and not bundle a "jack of all trades" into your financial life.CPAs often look in the short term, and not the long term.

This lack of oversight allowed Schwartz to misappropriate nearly all the investor money, using it for personal expenses and risky stock tradesI am not familiar with Yield Street, but many of these platforms are questionable and you need to look into the operator.

What you are describing is called adverse selection - you have a known issue and want to buy an insurance policy to fix your problem because that is less than what it would cost to have the work done and you pay directly to the trades.

I'm aware that K1's are usually accepted and viewed as ordinary income with 2-years returns, however I'm struggling to find a lender that can decipher the difference between a private investment that issues a K1 and a publicly traded stock such as Enterprise Products, Williams, or Energy Transfer Partners.

The 2 year lockout period means that they will not accept additional payments beyond the minimum payment (trade-off is that sometimes you can get them to go for interest only).

what I like about MLS is you can go through a normal buying process. .wholesalers want to hype their deals info is wildly incorrect.. they want up front NON refundable deposits and your not getting any of that back.. they just try to create a false sense of urgency.MLS you take your time make your offers you can offer less you protect your EM you have inspections you can re trade within your contract time lines etc etc..MUCH more buyer protection that way.. the market will dictate the final outcome.. not a wholesaler hype machine and no real due diligence.
