I just need a sense going into my first year as I talk to real estate firms.I'm completely in the dark on this and when I ask the instructors to give something, they always punt on the answer and they say every fee is negotiable.

After 10 hours the instructor cuts you loose to fly all by your self  then after about 40 hours of solo and little more dual instruction you take a check ride and get your ticket then you can legally take passengers..

@Rob Swanson    Very well stated,  and you have, at least for me, summed up quite nicely why many good instructors / coaches do what they do. 

I have never had any experience with the new company, but from what I understand, they still use a lot of the same instructors who were all pretty great.  

I'm from the old school that training meant sitting down and going through some sort of testing, data entry, running though scenarios etc, with an instructor to learn something.

They're taught by credentialed instructors.

The key to success is similar to what my old Instructor Tom Powers used to say: For every hour in the Dojo (or online) you've got to spend 9 hours in the real world.Phil, seems like you're already out there.

Per the instructor, it takes upwards of 3 years generally.
