I am a Canadian Investor looking to invest in the US. I wanted to hear some stories of challenges people have faced who have already invested out of state or out of the country before so I can know what to avoid, what to look out for, and where to focus my energy.

I am investing in mainly single-family homes and small multifamily (2plex-6plex) homes with long term tenants.

I am a pretty experienced Canadian investor looking to invest in the United States with buy-and-hold properties in TX, ND, SD, NE, TN, WY, and LA. I was wondering what tips you guys have for finding quality property managers without meeting them in person. What characteristics of a property manager you should look for, as well as what to avoid.

I am a pretty seasoned investor from Canada who wants to get into syndication seriously. From my earlier post, people told me the best way to learn is to find a mentor and do some deals with them. How would you guys go about selecting a mentor? Who would you choose, what would you look for specifically and where would you look?
