@Stephanie P.

Do you strictly rely on liability insurance for protection in that case?

Do you ever transfer them to llc at a later date or keep as is with insurance then?

@Randall Alan

That was very helpful.

How do I get the umbrella insurance? Is this the same umbrella insurance that i got from my car insurance company? Or is this a separate kind of umbrella insurance?

Thank you in advance

I feel like Bigger pockets would be an ideal place to get some answers to this question:

I want to use leverage to buy my first investment property (single family home).

How do you guys go about the initial setup:

Take mortgage in your own name? And title in your own name? Then create an LLC? Then quit claim deed property to LLC? Hope that due on sale clause is not activated? What about title insurance transfer?

I just realized that i asked like a million questions in one question but your thoughts on initial setup from the time you see the property to when you are renting it out will be highly appreciated.

Goal will be to buy at a discount, so tax tail doesn't wag the dog

Hey Everyone,

When comparing lower property tax areas:

Arizona (Phoenix)

Tennessee (Nashville)

North Carolina (Charlotte)

Versus

Texas (Dallas), higher property tax area

How much importance should i give to property tax as a determining factor in where to buy an investment property for a 250k 3 bed 2 bath single family home for investment purpose?

I feel that property tax is a constant expense i need to worry about as a landlord.

Any views on importance of property tax in yout decision-making to narrow to investment areas would be appreciated

Hello everyone,

I am an out of state investor who has narrowed down and decided to focus on north dallas for investment.

I want to stick with "buy and hold" strategy for single family homes.

In north dallas, how can I go about finding:

1) Investor agent

2) Property manager

3) Investor lender

4) Handyman

Unfortunately, I am out of state to scope these people out in person.

Any tips or tricks will be highly appreciated.
