@William Hochstedler

So hypothetically let’s say I have 200k in an exchange. I am able to take 100 of that and just pay the capital gain on that 100?

BP,

I have a quick and simple 1031 exchange question. I am getting ready to sell a property and I am going to put the funds into an exchange account to flip into a better and bigger investment.

My question is, am I able to pull a portion of that money out and just get hit with the gains? Or does all the proceeds have to go towards my next investment?? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

BP,

I am wondering if it is possible to use the current equity I have in all of my properties (roughly 2 million) to buy land and build new construction multi family units? Would I need money down? I’m just not sure how I am able to use that equity if I want to build units?

Also, I own a home improvement company so I have a lot of connections in my field to where I can cut corners on costs, labor, etc.

Any sort of direction and feedback would be appreciated! Thank you.

BP,

Good Morning. I am in the middle of negotiating on a 5 million dollar multifamily real estate deal. We are getting close to the finish line, but the one hold up is the seller getting crushed with capital gains on the sale. Is there a way to defeat some of that capital gain without rolling those funds into another investment? Part of the deal seller financed maybe? That is the only option I can personally think of. Any advice or feedback would be appreciated! Thank you all!

Luke, Thanks a lot for the response. Is it your permanent home or do you rent your house out as well?

BP,

I'm wondering if anyone on here has a home down in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida (30A). I have just started kicking around buying a home here for my family and I, but I would need to rent it out year round as well. Does anyone have experience with this in this area? If so, pros? cons? I would imagine the returns aren't great, but if it pays for itself or has very little return, I'm still willing to look into it. Please let me know if you have any information on this topic! Thank you!

BP,

I was hoping someone could answer a quick question for me. I have a large multifamily rental portfolio. Let's say I wanted to sell one of my 8 units and exchange those funds in a 1031 into a vacation home/rental (my portfolio is in the midwest). Am I able to do that since it's technically a "rental property?" Obviously I am trying to defeat capital gains here, but my wife and I wanted to start searching for a vacation home here soon and would prefer this route if possible. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
