1031 exchange question

BP,

I have a quick and simple 1031 exchange question. I am getting ready to sell a property and I am going to put the funds into an exchange account to flip into a better and bigger investment.

My question is, am I able to pull a portion of that money out and just get hit with the gains? Or does all the proceeds have to go towards my next investment?? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

All funds must go into new purchase or you pay on the boot.
