That will depend on how your contract is written. But the absolute best way to pay a contractor, and most of them can except it, is by a credit card. Most of them can run it right through their smart phone. And it gives you legal protection that a check or cash does not give you! Never ever ever, ever, ever pay for a job until it's completely done and walked through. I don't care how good you know the guy, never ever! LOL. It'll save your friendship!

Hi Shea,

I agree with Patti, I LOVE section 8, HOWEVER.... ALWAYS do your own criminal and credit checks.  Section 8 Qualifies tenants, but generally only does a local backround check.  Also, be sure to use the calculater on Bigger Pocket's before you make an offer.  ALWAYS run your numbers first.  Remember the #1 rule of investing, NEVER pay RETAIL!!!!  ;o)  Best of luck to you and keep asking questions!!!

Sheila

Hi Christine, Two fold response. Doing investing full-time in Statesville is a great idea right now. It has allowed me to walk away from my corporate job, in which I spent almost 60 hours a week doing. Investing is a lot of work, but I love it! Also, as far as the landlord's meeting, it is the third Tuesday of the month, we start gathering around five the meeting starts at six. In between that time we order dinner and chat. It is at king of the sea restaurant on Davie Avenue in Statesville. Please come join us. You'll meet a lot of great people, and quite possibly people that you know. We also have something in common, after accumulating several rental properties I am working on my first flip also! 🙌

Hi Chrisrine. I actually touch base with you a couple years ago. I was letting you know about the Iredell County landlords Association. So glad to see you guys back! I actually just found out that I am now the president of the landlords Association as opposed to vice president! LOL. Would love to invite you and your husband to our first meeting back which is the third Tuesday of September. We have plenty of members including real estate agents, obviously investors and landlords, flippers bank representatives and all kinds of people to do some great networking with. Welcome back, and if there's anything I can do to help you out please let me know. I work, invest and live in Statesville so I'm pretty familiar with the area. I see that Matt Peachey sent you a welcome message, he's a great realtor if you're looking to do a flip. Looking forward to meeting up and doing some networking with you! Have a great day.

My experience with LENDING CLUB has been EXTREMELY NEGATIVE. I would not recommend them to anyone.
