Real Estate "Newbie" from NC
Hey Everyone,
My name is Robert Moye and I'm truly a real estate newbie. I've worked for many years as a financial analyst but have always been interested in real estate. Years ago I considered getting a real estate license. However I’m afraid I don’t have the best personality to make sales every day. I also considered starting an appraisal business (years ago) but ended up sticking with financial analysis. No regrets on the finance career but I wouldn’t mind branching out to something new at this point in my life.
Last year I was able to contract workers and to actually do some of the home improvements myself. It took longer than expected but I was able to control the costs using my finance background. The house was listed in November and I closed on the sale in mid December. I now live in the Statesville, NC area and I've already done improvements on that property. I feel it should last me until retirement from the finance position.
I feel I can handle some aspects of this business but I need all the help I can get on others. I came to this site to learn as much as possible. Help from other users will be greatly appreciated.
