"I" did not put that in office. I would not commit such treason to my country.But I do agree that it is being destroyed within. All of the deficit spending, printing money etc. is one of the 6 steps mentioned in "How to Destroy an Economy". Someone said once, "Democracy will not go out with a sigh but with an applause."

Terry,
I whole heartedly agree with what you are saying. However, the truth of the reality is that there will always be those who will not seek their own reality but rob those who have of theirs.

Terry,

I think you are right in that our government is evolving into something different. I believe it is at about its end as we know it. Even one of the political leaders from Russia stated he did not think the US would last another 2 years. I believe him. We are undergoing a severe change but it's not one of love and caring. We are a nation divided as Rich pointed out above. You have nearly half the nation sitting around with their hand out wanting someone whose busted their *** to get somewhere in life to give them theirs. Then you have that group of people saying "NO!" I agree with that latter half. Hint: Capitalist vs. Socialist.

And I think I have pointed out the evolutionary process we are in and I'd rather be nailed to a cross.

Rick, I also agree with your last comment. Which brings us back to the secessionists movements. Another topic that I know is controversial since so many are ignorant on the subject and fail to understand that the original one was to preserve states rights and prevent the sort of corruption we see in the large centralized government we now have. There are at least 10 states that have asserted state sovereignty on certain federal issues. Let's hope we see this trend continue. We need state governments that will push back on the monster Fed. It is my hope that before I die, I should see the Federal Government dissolved (at least in its present state) and control given to the states and their people. I believe it is the only way to stop the process that I posted earlier.

"Yes We Can! ;)

Thank you, again John. I'm a few years younger than you but also have a son in his twenties and I'm extremely disappointed in the values (if you call them that) that he exhibits. I didn't teach him the lack of them and absence of morals that I see.

Rich, I agree the IQ comment.

Nationwidepi, that's a condensed version of what I said.

Terry, that's the other part of what I said. We no longer have a Democracy. We are under the omnipresence of Big Brother but this nation has done it to themselves and like the old saying goes.."a country get the kind of government it deserves."

I'd also like to add this little piece of info that I found. And while I may sound like I'm a fanatic or ranting sometimes on this subject, that's fine. I'll do it to anyone who will listen because this is what I see happening to our country and I'm very afraid for it's future:

As you listen to the political speeches, platforms and promises of the 2008 presidential campaign, ponder the words of Alexander Fraser Tytler, a british lawyer and writer. Tytler believed that governments and democracy go through stages that last 200 years. His thoughts are rather amazing when compared to the current state of democracy in the US. I believe we are in the apathy to dependence stage. Listen to the presidential candidates speak of what you are due from government, what you are entitled to. Is this what you really want, dependence?
A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.
The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations from the beginning of history has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:
• From bondage to spiritual faith;
• From spiritual faith to great courage;
• From courage to liberty;
• From liberty to abundance;
• From abundance to complacency;
• From complacency to apathy;
• From apathy to dependence;
• From dependence back into bondage.
