Post: Debt Collection from Tenants

Can anyone tell me if there is a time limit on how long you can wait to take legal action against a tenant who has broken a lease and left owing back rent? At the time, the tenant had driven the property into foreclosure and my mind was more on saving the property than taking action against them. Now that I have the problem resolved, I would like to collect what is due to me. I am in Florida and the former tenant is now somewhere in Indiana. has anyone ever dealt with a similar situation than can tell me the easiest way to go about this?

And I believe you are right in that a large part of the population that voted for BO are realizing they've been lied to (as if this is an unheard of phenomenon for a politician). However, in the 3 or so months he has been in office, he has already started the ball rolling on a number of very damaging legislations. My fears are of the type of damage he can do in 4 years.

Shana, yes, I read that thread on survivalist techniques lol! It was a good one. I haven't been on here that long, although my mouth (fingers?) seem to have been making up for lost time lol! I'm still reading a lot of the older posts. They're great!

I was a nurse for a few years and then decided I had an aversion to doctors. I went back to school to become a chemical engineer and worked in that field for nearly 8 years. Then I was introduced to the miracle of taking mere sand to produce one of the most powerful and successful products known to man at which time I went back to school again to become and electronics engineer. I have done everything from build semiconductors to troubleshoot and analyze components and circuit boards. It is still a field I truly enjoy.

Douglas, my hope is to influence many more people than just in my circle. Part of the reason I am here. Although it seems the majority in this forum have already opened their eyes to the facts of what is happening, it's great to hear different ideas and inputs on how to solve problems. The key is to do something about it.

"no matter how passionate you are about what is going on you can only control what you can control"

But together we can control more. I can write letters to Congress and the Senate telling them how they have strayed from the founding principles of this country and infringing on the Constitutional rights of its people until my printer cartidge is smoking but I am only one voice in a crowd. That voice gets a lot louder when its many.

"Who is going to bail US out? We, the ones that have worked hard to control our futures.

Mike, I don't believe its the intent of anyone to bail the U.S. out. I was just reading how China is suggesting the U.S. replace the dollar with an international currency. Hmmm. the implications of this.

"We, the ones that have worked hard to control our futures."

And if we want to continue to do so we better step up to the plate and start swinging at all those balls thatare coming at us.

Shana, I think a lot it of goes back to something I said in the last post, information overload. There is so much out there it can be as Harrison said, as if your "eyeballs are flying out of their sockets". A lot of people will tune out and then the ones who hear will let it go in one ear and out the other because they feel like they don't know who to believe anymore. I love music and use it a lot on some sites but am unsure as to how effective it is in getting the message across. I also write a lot of poetry but from the comments I get on them most miss the point. As I said I have friends and associates that are from both schools of thought to varying degrees. While they respect my views on these issues if I have made any real progress in opening their eyes to the truth, it isn't apparent. It's as if they simply don't want to look at it.

And Harrison, I think you did good to make it a couple of weeks. I don't think I could have made it that long. While I am not one for Fox News or CNBC, I'm an internet junkie and have made similar pacts with myself to stay away from some sites that I have been spending some less productive time on but then I will log on to check my e-mail and someone will have sent me something that I find incredibly interesting....information overload lol!

I'm sorry Harrison if I offended you lol! As I stated before I'm so accustomed to hearing something like that of a serious nature that I had to comment on it. Yes, I spent the majority of my day catching up on work that needed to be done while I was paying more attention to these postings as well as some on other sites I'm involved with. But at the same time, I feel the future of my business, livelihood, as well as that of my country's depends on getting enough people to listen, recognize and take some type of action to help build our nation into the strong, productive society it once was.

Yes, Michael and within those two groups are varying degrees of both. I have friends who are on both side of those tracks and yes, we debate the issues regularly. I myself am probably more of an extremist conservative than most people I know. I didn't use to be but find that the more liberalist BS that gets pushed down my throat, the farther to the right I move lol!

I recognize what you are saying about the control of our country/government being beyond what you refer to as party lines. But note above, I wasn't particularly referring to "parties" but ideologies. They are different. I feel that those controlling our government seek to have the wealth of our nation distributed among only a few individuals, with the remainder of the population in the state of so called "equality" (ie. the government takes everything you work for and produce) hence the growing Socialist nature of our government. The only way I know of to stop this process is get rid of them. Wipe them out, regain control of our governing body, put in the necessary checks and balance once again and repeat every 200 years :D

"Well said Matty. Do you know any groups people are organizing against the Fed now?"

League of the South:

Don't be swayed by the name though. They're not just for the south. They have state organizations as far north as NY. They're not a radical, war promoting organization but rather seeking a peaceful separation in order to return states rights.
