Post: Ideas for Providing Value

I want to provide others with value for sharing their time and advice with me as I I'm working to network with others and develop my "core 4"

Can you provide ideas that I can use to provide values to others in the REI community? (examples for each role are ideal - agents, contractors, lenders, property managers, wholesalers and other investors). Maybe a task that takes a few hours or less to complete for them?

@Dave Meyer I did also find this to be too much information, but I was curious on which data should be important to me as an investor and why. It seemed an inch deep and a mile wide. The job outlook and employer sections in particular, confused me. The job outlook data included 2020, but the top employers list on slide 37 was from 2017. Slide 28 included local gov't data but 29 did not include any gov't job data as the footnote indicated.

@Stuart Grazier Wow, really cool to hear. I’ll definitely look into those. I’d really like to focus on growing my network. Thank you for the suggestion. I’d be happy to take you up on that offer if you could make recommendations. One of my next important steps is to select an investment city. I noticed your Milwaukee properties, nice work! How would you describe the market opportunity out there - saturated with buyers or still potential to invest?

@Jamaal Gibbs I like the enthusiasm! But, I’m interested in getting involved with a group and receiving guidance in parallel to investing, not making all of my own mistakes that may be avoided by connecting with experienced investors.

I've learned about and heard positive review for a REI education and mentorship group in Texas. They send out recommended deals with financial metrics, assist you through the purchase and renovation process and I believe more.

Can anyone recommend a similar group around Denver area or in Colorado?

I’d like to purchase a property by mid year to avoid researching and reading books too long without putting my knowledge into application.

Thanks in advance!

Ryan

Hi fellow BP members. I'm new to real estate investing and I'm looking to select an investing strategy. My goal is to align my career skills and  experience with the best fit, instead of only going by others experience or recommendations. Previously I've worked as a systems engineer and currently do energy engineering consulting on commercial building's HVAC systems.

BRRR, Buy & Hold, Wholesaling, and Traditional Flipping are types of investing that I've heard of. In addition to reading the ultimate beginner's guide (UGB), can anyone share information, articles or resources that could help me come to a conclusion after considering the trade-offs?

Also, if you have a similar background and would be willing to share your real estate investing experience, I'd be happy to hear!               Thanks, Ryan

Hi Mitchell, I'm in a similar position to your original post. How'd it go for you?

As someone new to real estate investing, I’m seeking to find a few “hot markets” to consider investing in. Can someone recommend a resource for objectively evaluating the investment potential for areas in the US?

I’m looking to avoid subjective assessments of “hot markets” based solely on opinions and personal biases.

Thanks in advance!

Ryan
