Ideas for Providing Value

Ideas for Providing Value

I want to provide others with value for sharing their time and advice with me as I I'm working to network with others and develop my "core 4"

Can you provide ideas that I can use to provide values to others in the REI community? (examples for each role are ideal - agents, contractors, lenders, property managers, wholesalers and other investors). Maybe a task that takes a few hours or less to complete for them?

@Account Closed I suppose it depends on your definition of value. I would agree that profit is the desired outcome of adding value. But I think that there can be intermediate mechanisms that directly lead to that outcome, such as providing insights, information/data, providing referrals or connections, or spending time to complete a task or research a topic. An analogy to my point could be drawn with scoring points in sports. Yes, you need to score pts to win a game, but there are actions you need to take in order to effectively score (pass, shoot, run, etc.)

For an agent, come in with a clear idea of what you are looking for.

Property type - Single Family, Multi?

Price - Get pre-approved first, this is the biggest waste of everyones time.  Most can't get what they thought they could.

Area / Deal - know what you are looking for.  We can help narrow it down or give you numbers on cash flow, but know what you are looking for.

A simple Zillow search will give you an idea of what's out there.  I get people asking for "newer" multi-family in a "nice" area all the time.  Las Vegas does not have that unfortunately.

As for the rest of the Core 4 - Everyone wants an action taker, not endless questions.  Be ready to take the steps they provide to move forward.

Perhaps offering to view - or even just drive by - a property for sale that is in your area, for an investor who's outside the area.

@Stephen DeThample This is clear and specific. Thanks for your input.

@Suzanne Player Awesome idea. I had not thought of using my location as that advantage. Plus, it will help me gain an understanding of my local market better. I'll have to think more about where I could share that offer with others.
