Post: Fannie Mae Opens the Floodgates: What's Your Opinion?

What has me wondering if I'm seeing straight is the article linked below describing a radical easing of credit standards.  Fannie Mae has unveiled a new program that allows previously excluded sources of income.  I was especially surprised to see that non-borrower household members could be included in the new debt to income calculation!!!

Here in Orange County, this could lower the barrier to entry for a lot of people.  Depending on your RE investing strategy, this could be WONDERFUL or HORRIBLE news.  Please weigh in and share your opinion as I think many BPers would find it interesting.

Agreed.  A lot of homeowners (and renters) don't even open Valpak envelopes.  A more direct approach is better IMO.

I also bought a site from this service a few years ago.  It seemed to work as advertised, but some things seemed suspicious.  Example, I originally chose to host it with iPage, but was told by the person referenced above that the site was not compatible.  He suggested I buy his hosting plan instead.  I needed the site to work so I paid him to host for $65/year.

I wanted to update the site a few years later and had a few questions for him.  I have his email address and phone number and left messages via both several times.  He will not respond so I decided to start over and build a new site without being held hostage again.

The price is attractive, but the service is a deal killer.  Building my own also forced me to learn about website set up and design.

Best of luck!

It's understandable to get frustrated with people who waste your time or choose to not be forthcoming.  This person sounds like they're in a bad situation and it's admirable to know you were patient and treated them with respect nonetheless.  You handled this well and hopefully the second group is your winner.

Another way of looking at is at least 2 of the 3 showed up.  I've had days where none showed up.  Talk about frustrating!
