Thanks. What measurements do I need to take with me to home depot? This is a standard tract type house.
Are there any tools/aids that make hanging doors easier with than without? Or just wedges, level, screwdriver tape and luck?

How do you talk about interior room doors? There's 2 standard sized (30") on Craigslist I could use, if they're correct. Do doors open "in" or "out"? Standing IN two bedrooms, I reach to the left side to take the knob, and pull the door TO me. The barrels of the hinges are visible on the right.
Standing in the third room, the knob is on the right side of the door and I pull it toward me. Does it make a difference? These panel doors are $35 each. Is that a good buy, or about how much are they new from home depot? Hardware comes with. They look to be in good condition.

Found it! My local Assessor's office has a function to search for subdivisions. Clicking that gives me links to the entire subdivision and names and addresses. NOW I can prepare postcards to mail!

Except, where would I get them? Photo of property and text? What sort of company does that? Printers? Photographers? who?

With all the talk of inflation and deflation, USA debt, the lender problems and foreclosures, and all the rest, If I buy a foreclosed house from the government, is that purchase in danger of anything? Will I be awakened at some future time and evicted because it isn't mine afterall?

When I sold my residence two years ago I sold FSBO. I listed it on Owners.com, which I will not do this time, I don't think. I will use a flat fee lister locally, and part of the signage will include a % coop commission w/agents. That by itself got more people in the door, but it was not one of their clients that bought. The buyers were a couple up the street who saw it on their daily walk.
I will put a keysafe on the door and as I am a short distance away, can meet with someone within minutes. Availability is important.
I had that house inspected by a state licensed person, and the inspection report negatives were on the counter for everyone to see, along with local information. Since the inspection had been done days earlier, the buyers used it rather than buying their own. The house was empty and spotless. They could see everything there was to see.

I left a message on the agent's recorder. Thing is, he was unresponsive when I wanted to see it prior to the auction. They have no interest in it now. I will call again. It won't be long till it gets to freezing here.

Thanks. I wrote this late last night, and never thought to add there is a pool. The water heater is in the enclosed laundry room. No garage, but a carport. The laundry is also the secondary entrance to the house.
If the water is turned off at the main, should the faucets be left to drip?
what needs done to the pool, pumps and lines etc?
