While looking at properties I'll come across a property that says "foreclosed , unpaid balance of $ ". What does this amount mean? How is the unpaid balance taken care of? By who?

I've been told it's miles of red tape. And a slow process. Not ideal for a flip

I've been looking for the same scenario, and unless you have a real estate license, you probably won't get much help.

Get your real estate license. I'm in roughly the same position as you, looking to get started, reading & researching. I've contacted about 8-10 local RE businesses and I've essentially been told "without a real estate license we don't want anything to do with you".

If you don't mind me asking... About how much did you have saved up when you initially purchased this home? Some people say "get out there, do a deal, get your hands dirty and learn along the way" , while others say "If you don't have at least six months cash saved up, don't even think about real estate investing."

So the "guru" said "just call up the We Buy Houses people, they'll be glad to talk to you about their needs and getting into the RE business."

Really? If I just call up to pick their brain about what they do... with no property to offer them. They'll be ok with it? Judging by most of the investors on here, they don't have a whole lot of time as it is and a complete newbie calling out of the blue may not get a call back.

Incredible! It's good to read these success stories when it looks impossible from my end.

In east Orlando there are a lot of good areas to buy, convenient to good paying jobs, UCF, the beach, Disney and so on... But there are just some really awful schools around the area. How much should that influence buying in those areas?

Hello James! Im just getting started myself, looking to wholesale, flip, buy and hold.

I live in East Orlando and am a UCF grad. Ive lived in Orlando for all but two years of my life. Once you move down, I suggest joining the local real estate club, CFRI, which is awesome! If youre interested, send me a message and we could talk about the areas to invest and the ones to stay away from.

Good luck!

Actually, just this week there was news that a company that will be bringing in 1800 high paying jobs to the space coast soon. SpaceX maybe? It could be a step in the right direction at that point in time. I think the cape area is a ghost town at this moment however.
