@Sean Kuhn The hardware on your kitchen island looks fine to me - is it the same throughout? If so, I'd leave it.

A room in a shared home - either in a nicer area with 4 or 5 other people (student rental), or in a fixer upper/basement suite with 1 or 2 others.

Yes, you're right Sean - I would just do a first coat primer and then paint it with a semi-gloss or gloss white - it will make a huge difference!

Hi Sean,

I agree with modern handles and I would do stone countertop - keeping the colour of the stone light...granite is super durable. I would also replace the lino floor with a tile - slate is inexpensive and also very durable.
