Good question Nick - we're also interested in the same strategies. I'm also interested in hearing what the more experienced BP investors would say about what is more successful for them - the fixer upper, or the ready to move in.

Hi Mary,

We've had a condo in Nuevo Vallarta and its been great for us.

If you're looking for a really good agent, speak to Harriet at Cochran Real Estate. She's the managing broker there and has a wealth of information.

Best, Penny

Hello Forum,

We bought a condo in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico years ago and it has been a good source of rental income. We're thinking about making Mexico our base for investment and wondering what the tax implications are. Here in Canada, if we just keep investing, then we don't have to pay any taxes, until a profitable sale - so we're curious about how the rental income is treated there? Any advice or suggestions for who we might speak to? Thanks! Penny
