Hi Davis Bunn - I'm a newbie too and looking for the same thing in the area. I am currently in CA and have a SFR here, but have a 2nd home in Clayton and plan to invest in the local area in the future. Welcome. There's SO much info on here.
Thanks Jonathan Matthews - we are actually in search of leasing a commercial property. My husband and I own and operate a machine shop. I'll send you an email.
Thanks Mike Ollison - I was just there at the end of August. Will be heading back there right after Christmas. I have much to explore and learn. But that Clayton Steakhouse was gooooood. Good to connect with an appraiser in the area. I have a rental here in CA, and we're getting a 2nd opinion on its appraisal, which came in lower than a comp.

Welcome! I'm a newbie too. Residing in CA, but beginning to invest in NC. I thought about IN since I have friends and family out there.
Pete Bhairgond Welcome! I'm a newbie too and just getting started there. Mike Ollison Hi there neighbor. I just bought a 2nd home in Clayton. Jack Farrell With your background, you are more than qualified. Can you PM me your contact info? Working on a deal now in Wilmington, but next purchase will be in the Raleigh area. Michael Jobe Sounds like you have good recommendations. I may have to PM you as well.

Thanks Chris Martin - my lender just checked with the attorney I used previously. He actually has a contact in ILM to record there on his behalf. For this transaction, I'll leave it as is. I'm in California and will be closing via mailaway. But will definitely look into local attorneys for the areas I plan to invest in.

Purchased a 2nd home outside of Raleigh, just a couple of months ago. I used an attorney that was suggested by my lender. Now purchasing a rental property in Wilmington using the same lender. But now he says I need to find an attorney in this part of the state. Is it wrong to assume that real estate/closing attorneys in NC only cover their local areas? Looking for suggestions if anyone can provide any. Thanks.
Glad I did a search. I'm purchasing a rental property in Wilmington NC and looking for an attorney.

Chris Eaker rentometer, thanks for the tip
Kevin Breed Yes. I am here in Wilmington right now. But headed up North today. I have seen the beginning signs of lots of new developments; land being prepped, etc. I have noticed some lots during my searches, but I have weeded them out since they weren't something I was focusing on. But thanks for the info. And nice to meet someone in the area.
