I live in Northern Michigan, near the Traverse City area, both sides, and I greatly appreciate your points of view, Mark. There are some people that have good luck year-round but like you said we do have more seasonal visitors. And while an STR has kind of been on my want to do list the regulatory actions up here scare the heck out of me.

@Rachael Luce-Ogle the NMRPOA group still meets.  We are, however, taking a couple months off due to the Stay at Home Order.   We meet the first Monday of the Month, on EVEN Months we meet at 6pm-7pm at the Elks Club, and on ODD Months we meet at Noon-1pm at Harrington's by the Bay, both in Traverse City's west side.  We, at this point, expect June to be our next meeting.  Please join us!!  Add me, on here, if you like.  We bring in speakers, most meetings, on a variety of topics that investors find useful.

Since this is an old post let me clear up the name of the group. When I wrote that first post, I was looking for a group and guessing on the name, and no one corrected me. The name of the group is Northern Michigan Rental Property Owners Association (NMRPOA). We are an extension of the Grand Rapids Rental Property Owners Association (RPOA) Group. I have been a member since I found them and joined . It is currently the only REI group in the area.

@Michael Delmont I am not sure what group you mean that was doing a Zoom, but it wasn't us, at least not to my knowledge?   If you are up here in the area, we would love to meet you and have you attend as a guest as well!!  Also if you are aware of an additional group, please fill us in.
